CLDC to host Career and Internship Fair, Night of Networking on Feb. 14

Feb 7, 2017
By Danielle Young

Ohio University students and alumni who are seeking internship and employment opportunities or who want to explore industries and practice their networking skills won’t want to miss one of the biggest events OHIO’s Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC) offers each semester.

The CLDC’s bi-annual Career and Internship Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. Free and open to all OHIO students and alumni, the Career and Internship Fair will feature hundreds of potential employers, all of whom are coming to the Athens Campus and interested in recruiting Bobcats.

Nearly 100 employers, representing a variety of fields in both the public and private sector, have signed up to participate in this semester’s Career and Internship Fair. The spring semester event often features a good number of summer internship and employment opportunities, noted Erika Peyton, assistant director for employer relations and marketing at the CLDC. A comprehensive list of the employers scheduled to participate in this semester’s event is available here.

OHIO students of all academic backgrounds are encouraged to attend the Career and Internship Fair. According to Peyton, more than 1,000 students and alumni participated in this past fall’s Career and Internship Fair.

Providing another outlet for students to connect with employers, the CLDC is teaming up with the Ohio University Alumni Association to host a Night of Networking following the Career and Internship Fair.

Scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Konneker Alumni Center, the Night of Networking will allow OHIO students and alumni to interact with OHIO graduates who are also employers in a casual and informal setting complete with hors’ d’oeuvres and refreshments.

The Night of Networking is free and open to all students and alumni. Registration for the event can be found here.
